About Me
First off, thanks for being here and taking a look at my website! My name is Chris and have been in mechanical engineering in the UK for 25 years. I started as an apprentice technician working in a model shop machining and finishing components out of metals, plastics and polymers. Over the years I broadened my experience in mechanics, electronics, software and product design.
A few years ago my partner Holly started a pottery business Weston Cottage Pottery offering pottery classes as well as making and selling her own pieces. I quickly found myself becoming her support engineer with my main goal being to enable her to be creative and grow without equipment holding her back. Click the projects button below if you're interested to see some examples. It'll tell you a bit more about what we've done as well as maybe spark off some ideas of your own!?
Fast forward to now, due to personal circumstances I've decided to create A Potters Engineer to offer the things I've been doing for her to the wider potter community. I've been absolutely amazed by the pottery community, the creativity, the personalities, the collaborative nature... the list goes on. I feel really lucky to have stumbled across you all via Holly and I hope I can help others out there.
Feel free to reach out to me if you need my services or even just to say hi!
Cheers!
Chris.
